2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission brake bolt question

Doing my front brakes again on 96 4wd. I pulled axle out last time and I won't do that again. The 4 bolts on back that you have to remove(12 pointers) one is missing on passenger side. Is this a dealer or dodge wrecking yard only item? I used the performance friction pads last time and replaced the rotors with drilled and slotted ones. But pads only lasted a little less than 2 years, drivers side almost gone, pass side a little less than 1/8th in. left. Is this common? I do adjust the rears manually couple times a year. They are still pretty good.

On the bolt , just go to the dealer , maybe less hassle than finding the rite size & hardness [ if you do not have a favorite nuts&bolts place ]
On the differance from side to side , you need to make sure that the piston moves fleely in both and then the surfaces that the caliper slide on are smooth and a little anti seeze , all the parts from side to side need to be working evenly to get even wear , and then take a close look at the flex hoses , and do not forget to bleed the system [ I think that no fluid should stay longer than 20-30 thou. miles or 2 yrs ]
then the life of your brakes could be short but its like getting good fuel millage , how do you drive ? and how many miles in 2 yrs. hwy/city.

Good point I do drive a lot about 20,000 miles a year a lot of highway miles, but I do live in the traffic congested bay area. So I guess the brakes do get a good workout a lot of the time. Thanks for the tips.

Some guys have all the luck, I do pads 3 times a year usually. Gonna anniversary a half mil soon.
