any one know of place to purchase a cheap brake booster for a 1991 automatic.

Second question: what to the 2 wires going in above the top of the fuel filter do?

Thanks

Kent

I bought one a year or so ago from autoshaft, uh, I mean Auto Zone, still have it in back of truck, my booster is getting worse and worse, but just too lazy to install, also NAPA usually has parts for these trucks. .

i bought one from napa about 2 months ago , booster alone was 105. 00,or you can do what i done and buy the booster and master cylinder together for 149. 00 much better value .

booster

I just changed the booster and master cylinder the booster from autobone was $82 and suprisingly looked of very descent quality and the master cylinder was $29 also looked real good. We'll see if in a year they are still working! After a new booster that didn't have a hole in it WOW what a difference. I can actually stop now.

It will take about 2 hours and a six pack. Or about 30 minutes without the six pack. You need someone to help you bleed the lines at the master cylinder. Also be sure to bleed the master cylinder BEFORE you put it on the truck.

The two wires going in above the fuel filter is for the fuel heater, according to the "92" manual and the operating range is 43-53 F , the ones running to the bottom of the filter are the Water in Fuel or WIF sensor.
