brake controller problem

i was hooking up my trailer to my truck for the first time and i could only get a faint signal,to the trailer brakes so i thougt it was the controller. i took it out and checked it i adjusted the knob on the side and still a very light signal. so i happend to flip it over and try it and bingo now it works. it is a kelsey energizer unit. any one know what this is or what?i have heard something about a pendulam on the unit either it is broke or something. but it does work now upside down. thanks

When I was a kid, my dad had a reefer in a trailer that didn't work. He took it out and turned it upside down as a joke. It worked... . ya just never know...
