Will the preterminated wire harness I bought for my Tekansha Prodigy brake controller work on my 2006? (Basically I'm asking if the Dodge brake controller plugis wired the same in 2006 as it was in 1997) THe Tekonsha harness is nice because there is no splicing necessary- just plug one end into the connector under the dash and plug the other end right into the brake controller- worked great on my 97.

The factory supplies the pigtail for the Tekonsha if You ordered the trailer wiring. It should be furnished in the cab someplace. Just connect to trailer control and plug in under dash behind steering column.

The factory supplied pigtail requires splicing, tekonsha sells a harness with plugs preterminated on each end-no splicing necessary. I bought it a couple years ago I'm just wondering if dodge still wires it the same. Using the preterminated harness is much easier and much more reliable than crimpiing onto the OEM pigtail.

The controller harness from my 99 2500 fit my 04. 5 2500 if that helps... it was plug and play... no rewire needed...

And my controller harnes from my 04. 5 2500 fit my 06 3500. So there you have it. Should work. Oo.

The only issue with using the prewired Tekonsha harness is that the power lead requires a 20 amp circuit breaker in the circuit. Since I was not sure there was another breaker in the circuit, I chose to use the factory supplied pigtail and wire in a 20 amp breaker. If you had to splice a breaker into the Tekonsha harness, that would defeat the simplicity and beauty of the harness.

Surely the plug under the dash is connected to fused power, isnt it???
