Giving others advice at RV dealer

Will I have a problem running a A/C unit off a EU3000 Honda genset?

If you're looking for a better brake control like me, WAIT! I called Tekonsha. They are working on an automatic leveling control. If testing goes as planned, it will be out in late May. My Voyager works fine until coming down a steep grade - then the trailer brakes way too hard because the level adjustment doesn't know the difference. The new one will know - so they say! Craig

It's called the Tekonsha Prodigy. I have a brochure on it at home. It also has a feature to "lead" the trailer brakes before the truck brakes. Supposed to help prevent jack kniving. It has a digital readout of power going to the brakes. It self-adjusts to where ever you mount it or if going up a hill. It'll be around $110.

I heard May also.

Thanks,Pat! They're sending me a brochure. Sound like it will be worth the bucks!I may put up until I know it doesn't have any bugs. The new one also works in reverse. The current units don't because the pendulum only swings forward. Craig

craig,
I recently installed the Reese digital controller on my '95, if you want to compare it to the Tekonsha, just another option for you. This unit works very well towing my 38' boat, which has elect. /hydraulic triple axle brakes. Here's the web page from "Pit Crew" where I bought mine: http://www.reesehitch.com/elec_brake_sys.html

good luck,
Paul

Bring me up to speed, please. I'm just starting to look at a brake controller. What should I look for?

I'm also thinking about the Reese rails with gooseneck ball. I don't have a 5'er yet, but that would give me the option, should I rent one for vacation, or whatever. Does anyone else have something better??? Thanks in advance! Ray

Ray, if you do a search, there's been some recent threads on brake controllers. They're far from being perfected! You need the inertia type(no hydlaulic connection)for ABS brakes so it doesn't screw up the ABS. Some co. makes one with a cable on the brake peddle but sounds like they've had problems. One thing for sure - don't buy a cheap entry level controller! Craig

Ray,

I have a Tekonsha Envoy. It works real well. I installed it myself using the factory pigtail.

I have the Tekonsha VoyagerXp. It works very well and I'm satisfied with it. I'd like to check out that self leveler they are working on.

Jordan makes the proportional brake controler that connects to the brake pedal with a cable. They make a good brake controller, but a really lousy web site. http://www.fortunecity.com/marina/finisterre/1228/jorjan/index.htm .
