Will a old style Kelsey Hayes brake controller work with anti-lock brakes? This is the type that taps into the brake line and were they a good controller?

No! Max Brake and Brakesmart used load cells the did not displace fluid. Sadly both are out of business. I love my Maxbrake! Maybe someone will sell you their controller after buying a new truck. Snoking

63shult,

I have a MaxBrake unit I recently removed from my 2001 before trading it in on a 2014. It was in perfect working order when removed.

I'm willing to sell it for $350 with delivery included via USPS Priority Mail.

The MaxBrake I have is complete with everything needed to install it except for two things:

1. A standard inexpensive brake controller wiring adapter, which you may already have.

2. An inverted flare tee fitting to attach to one of the ports on the master cylinder. It looks something like THIS. The one I have now should fit a 2013/2014 Ram, but not the 2001. I was in a hurry and had to leave the fitting on my old truck. The correct fitting for your truck can be purchased from Di Irrgang of Plug it Right (a former MaxBrake dealer), or possibly you can figure out which fitting you need by taking the MaxBrake parts and your truck to someplace like a NAPA store and matching them up the assortment of inverted flare fittings they keep on hand.

Please send me a PM (Private Message) if interested.

Best regards,

John L.

I love it when a plan comes together. Hello 63shult, opportunity is knocking!!!! Talk to Dutch and Di about installation.
