My dad has a 2001 1500 that did not come from the factory with a trailer towing package. I have added the Mopar harness to add the 7 way connector but I cannot find the plug under the dash to attach the controller. Do these trucks still have that plug if it didnt come with the towing package? I could sure use some help on this fellas, even the dealer cant answer this for me.

Don't think they come with the plug if not factory equipped with trailer tow pkg. Look in the PDC under the hood and if the trailer lights relay socket is empty then it doesn't have the plug. You can

run a circuit from the PDC or the battery for the brakes, need to include a auto reset breaker in the line. The black wire from the brake controller goes to 12+. The red wire ties to the stop light switch, (side that is not hot when brakes are not applied), this should be a white wire with tan tracer, the white wire is ground, tie to a good body ground, the blue wire goes to the trailer brakes.
