Just wuz wunder'n if any of you might be pulling a 5th wheel travel trailer behind your PU's and another trailer of substantial weight behind that. I'm fix'n to pull a 28 ft fifth wheel with my 3100lb Willy's on a tandem axle trailer behind the fifth wheel.

Is anyone using two individual brake controllers? Just thought it might be best to have a litte more braking action/control on the rear trailer. I know I could always adjust the 2nd trailer brakes tighter and loosen the center unit a little.

Thanx in advance... .....

Nothing special required....

I pulled double horse and stock trailers using several different brake controllers. Most worked fine, the ones rated for three or more axles were best. A Tekonsha Prodigy would be fine, as well as their Sentinal (that is what used the most).

We ran an extension cord threaded through the front trailer to provide lights/brakes in the back trailer.

As long as the front trailer was heavier then the back, it pulls fine and the trailers stay where they should.

Most loads were a 22' or 24' front trailer and a 20' - 22' behind. If the front trailer was a flatbed, it always had a another trailer on top and then one behind. Most all were both goosenecks with a temp hitch bolted in the rear of the front trailer. Total length always over 70' and a few over 80'. Very few loads were legal (length wise). Most trips in the dead of winter.

Glad those days are over.....
