Brake controllers

So I guess I'm going with a Prodigy. Do any of you guys know a good on-line vendor to order through?

Check in the towing section, there was a place selling them for under $100. I think Camping world wants $125 for them.

On sale at Camping World they're $125. 00 I think! Regular price is like $135. 00! I buy as little as I can there. I got mine at 5R. Not much cheaper, but, it's the principle of the thing .

Crobertson: I used to live in Colorado and 5R cost me about 9,000 dollars!!!!



How? I was perfectly happy with my stock '01 2500. Then, one day I am at the boat show and there is this guy sitting there with a sign that said something like "65 horsepower and 100 some odd ft lbs of torque added in minutes to your Dodge Cummins". I went up and spoke with this fella and he told me this little box would do all this and If I bought one, they would suggest an EGT gage and would install both for free if I bought the box... I was very skeptical that this would work as advertised because I was a New Diesel owner and only knew about gasser performance. This gentleman said "Let me put it on your truck, if you like it buy it". OK... I took the truck to 5R the next day, they put the EDGE box on my truck and I could immediately tell the difference!! I had a grin form ear to ear! Needless to say, I bought the box and EGT gage. So, that man at the boat show. . I forget his name, but he was like a manager or owner of 5R got me started on my addiction to bombs... . Am I am glad he did!!!

See, that's how it starts. Once you slip down that slope, it's over. I stay way back from the edge of that slope. I know if I slip, it'll cost a fortune.

someone on ebay usually is selling them (prodigy) for <100 including shipping... they are pretty easy to install, I tossed one in at the Cabelas parking lot in Kearney, NE a few months back... took atleast 10 minutes maybe 20 including tossing in a fuel filter. I really like my prodigy, but I havent tried the brakesmart, I considered it last time, but just couldnt part with the $$... maybe I will give the brakesmart a try next time.

I have a Prodigy in my 04 and it works great. (at least in comparison to others I've used) Purchased mine at www.brakecontroller.com . I went over to check, $124. 95 with free direct plug in harness for Dodge.
