Hey guys,

I have a 2000 2500 4x4 Quad Cab truck that needs some brake help. I would like to convert over to disc on the rear with a rear from a newer truck. I have done lots of reading and searching here and seems that most people that went the EGR conversion could be a little happier. Not saying it is a bad system but but didnnt see a lot of post bragging about them either. I would rather have a factory set up if possiable.

What do I need to get other then the complete rear end from a newer truck and what year rear should I be looking for ? Will I need to change the master cylinder also ? I currently have 3:54 gearing now. Is the front rear interchangable to get some better braking up front or would aftermarket calipers and rotors be sufficent ?

I tried the Chevy rear wheel cylinders and they worked a little to good. They would lock up in a panic stop and if it was wet out you had to be careful. They then started dragging and I pulled the drums and my shoes where all cracked up so I went back to the factory set up and would like to have some good brakes all the way around.

Thanks for any help or input that you can provide.
