Brake fade taken care of for cheap$$

truck was pulling bad to the left when braking so i decided to put new calipers on in less than 45 min cured the problem!



new caliper are only $ 25 a piece from advanced auto parts. my braking is much improved. no need to fight the old calipers when you can get new ones for $ 25 a peice. ($ 37 core charge)

When I got my '96, it needed front brakes! I used brembo (really good, but not the super high-end drilled) rotors and paid ~$70 each online. Paired them up w/ the lifetime preloaded calipers from napa, another ~$70 each. That combined w/ oversized rear wheel cylinders has been a huge boon when having to stop quickly. Living w/ 9+ months of rain a year, it's important to have strong but predicatable braking.



For <$300, I got what I was looking for without dropping real cash... unlike the DTT I need. Can't wait to push that plate all the way forward. That's a whole 'nother issue.



I did a lot of research before I did the work. I think I came out ahead of a lot of guys that are going with the real high end pads and rear-disk conversions. Hope you're happy w/ it too. In all my searches, the weak link that seemed to be most common was the rotors. Hope this helps someone.

on you auto situ... . just get the converter and and valve body and have a good rebuilder freshen up you transmission(new seals, upgraded bands etc). this will hold want you need and save $$
