brake light is on

So i had my truck hooked up to my fifthwheel toyhauler getting ready to head back home and saw my brake light was on. i dont use my emergency brake. i tried stepping on it and releasing it still stayed on. on the way home it would go out the come back on and ding amd drive me nuts. im going to call dodge and take it in. its still on this morning even witgout the trailer hooked up.

but in just curious if anyone else had this and knows what it is. its a 2007. 5 6. 7l thanks

Can't answer that. There is one at each front wheel and one in the top of the differential housing. The one in the rear also sends signal to the speedometer so if speedometer is working that one is probably ok. The switch at the E-brake could be defective also. Have you tried the ign. switch on, off, on, off on method to see if any codes are showing up? bg

I had the same problem last year. Turns out a squirrel had chewed through one of the ABS sensor wires. The ABS and the "Service 4WD" indicators were lit, accompanied by the annoying dings. The dealership repaired it under warranty and haven't had any problems since.
