I am about to order the cruise switch and a brake light switch from Rockauto.

MY question is rockauto shows 5 different brake light switches. They all appear to be the same except for price 10-16 dollars. Is there something other than price that anyone knows of I should be looking for?

Thanks

Mike

No functional difference other than different brands / different suppliers charging different prices. Some folks have a preference on a brand they've had good luck with.

HINT: If you're ordering several items from Rockauto, try and pick items from the same warehouse to save on shipping costs. For example, place all the brake light switches they have available in your shopping cart then selectively delete the ones not in the same warehouse as any other items you have on order.

Also, be sure and use the discount code: TURBODIESEL to get 5% off your order.

Best regards,

John L.

Many thanks John. Did not know of the 5% discount when I made order the other day for clockspring. Is there somewhere on this site that lists the discounts available from the various sponsors?

I'm not aware of one. That's a great idea though. I stumbled across the RockAuto discount code in a post and have used it successfully many times.

Another general INTERNET SHOPPING HINT:

Always do a Google search for discount / promotion codes before placing an order with a retailer. For example, if buying something from Sears.com, you would search for something like: "Sears discount code" and then pick through the first couple of dozen of results until you find a web site listing all the active discount codes Sears is offering. Sometimes you come up empty handed, but more often than not you'll find some real money-saving gems... discounts, free shipping, etc. One of my favorite sites for obtaining discount codes is RetailMeNot because users list their success rate with the various codes, which gives you an idea of your chance of it working and whether you should waste your time trying it.

Best regards,

John L.
