I had to nail the brakes pretty hard  the other day when a rice rocket jumped out in front of me. Didn't hit him but now my ABS and Brake warning lights are on, on the dash. Brakes are fine, not hard like they've defaulted to regular brakes or anything so I'm guessing that the ABS is working. There is nothing loose or hanging anywhere. Tried disconnecting the batteries to reset but no good still got the lights.

Anyone have any ideas??

Sometimes the rear brakes will get loose (out of adjustment) and a hard application of the brakes will set the pressure differential switch (this is switch that shuts off fluid to front or rear brakes if leak occurs), this will turn on the red light. If this is the case, try setting the emergency brake, start the engine and pump the brakes up and apply pretty hard a couple of times, release the e-brake and see it light goes out. If not, look under the master cylinder under the hood and locate the valve, it has 4 lines connected to it with a single wire plugged into the center of it. Unplug the wire, if the light goes out, have someone hold slight pressure on brake pedal (engine off) and ign. on so light will be on, slowly bleed one of the front brake until the light goes out, close bleeder. If the light stays on when you remove the wire from the valve, the problem it is related to the ABS system and you will have to read the codes to see what is wrong. bg
