Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Brake lines to rear end

Yesterday I was painting the underside of the truck gettin it winterized since it's never seen a Michigan winter, and noticed some odd lever extending from the drivers side shock bracket, to some type of module where brake lines intersect.



What is this for? Seems to be something relative to how much the truck is squating or some darn thing... .

It's a weight regulated rear brake proportioning valve which is only on 2500s (not on 3500s). There is also a TSB on this IF you haul at near or the max. GVWR AT LEAST 75% of the time.
