Replaced the fronts around 30+ and just did rears and fronts at 66. I did not turn anything yet. Rotors look great still. I did the recent work myself. it was easy and saved $500. I originally did it due to complete lack of funds, but would do it again unless I became wealthy overnight.

I am about 121,000 miles now. Hope to go another 30 or so.

wow. 120K out of original brakes? Do you get into thee mountains? Do you have an exhaust brake or is it just good downshifting with the 6 speed? My 48re doesn't hold it back very well.

I have 169,000 and counting. I still have tons of pad left, but they are glazed a tad. I would go back with stock pads and have the rotors turned if I do replace them. I do have and e-Brake and can do most of my slowing down with it.

The three 3g trucks I've known well besides mine have ALL gotton 100k plus out of pads. One of them was traded in with about 156k and original pads.

Nah, I never downshift to slow the truck. I might use the transmission to hold me back in the hills, but not much. I run across the passes pretty regularly going to SLC. The brakes on the 3rd gens are great!

I'm on my 3rd set (including factory) of pads and my 3th set (including factory) of tires @210,000 ... ... ... mostly towing.

04, 3500 Dually, did the brakes at 160K miles after an inspection found that 3 of the piston boots were damaged from heat and allowing dirt into the piston and giving us problems... . Had to replace all 4 pistons as well as caliper kits... .

Got 40,000 on fronts and rears look as if they will last forever on my 04. 5, on son's 05 he just ground up the drivers side rotor (grrrrrrrrrr) at 36,000 and the rears only have about 40% left.

221,035

221,035 miles in my 03. I am doing my back brakes this weekend and front next weekend. Mostly towing an no exhaust brake. This is the original set of pads. On my second set of tires but will be replacing before winter. Can't say enough good things

2001. 5 (4 wheel disks) 168K and still going, do have the 6 speed and an e-brake. I have at least 12K miles loaded at around 12K pounds, always run about 8500 pounds in "light" mode.

I replaced fronts and rears at around 80K on our '03 but all that truck does is tow a 20K lbs trailer day in and day out. Also had to replace the back drivers side rotor ($250 only at dodge house) due to not changing the pads soon enough.

Had my front brakes off last weekend, installed the Dynatrac locking hub kit. Still close to 50% of pads left. 90K miles. The brakes on these trucks are amazing!!!!

Those kind of mileage are fantastic. Guess I won't have to worry about the 05 for a long time. I replaced the front pads on my 95 at 70K.
