2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Brake problem

For the last several days I have noticed when in town and comming out of a store, I jump in my truck, and because its a five speed I push on the brake petal first thing before starting. The petal is very hard to push down until I start it. First start of the day its normal. Seems to do it just after its set for a short time. Is my booster going bad?

I had a 96 that did the same thing. I replaced the plastic check valve on the vacuum booster with a new updated model. The old one would leak off after sitting. I think there have been other posts with the same situation. Give it a try, if it works it's a cheap fix.
