Hey all!

Long time no talk on here but I need your wisdom now my ABS and P brake light have been staying on lately (figued it was fuse or whatever ) the last night i press on brake pedal and from passenger front side can hear metal on metal:mad:  the pad is complete worn off, but the drivers side is still half left

What Gives????

Jared

Any number of things. Probably the passenger side caliper is stuck. Other possibilities; there is an obstruction in the line on the drivers side, a kinked brake line, air bubble, (on the drivers side). How do your rear pads look?

HEY (ynot)

Are you having problems with self esteem buddy or whats the matter . You know nothing about me or my truck so why don't you just loose the stupid attitude . For your information my truck see's more preventive maintenance than most of the trucks out there. The truck is absolutely in beautiful condition but it does have to work too.

I asked question because couldn't figure the problem out it the pad wore off in one trip of 350 miles the were at 50% all ready and it was night and we drove straight through . the problem is that the pads noise indicators did not work. So it wasn't noticed until we got home. we were in a strong side wind also so that is probably why we didn't smell it either.

You didn't have to answer my question but if it made you feel better about yourself , I'm happy to of helped!!! I own 3 dodge cummins and have had 5 total all of them modified and extremely well maintained one of my family members even has a cummins conversion service.

But enough about you !

We did figure out what was wrong the inside pad was faulty and had let go of the pad part.

AS for the rape comment was that really necessary, as I can see you have a lot of (possibly gay) aggression stored up inside.

SO GROW THE F*%K UP!!!!

I come here because I know there is allot of very down to earth people that are very well educated in the area of our trucks

If you don't like it don't answer

Brakes

I know others will disagree but there might not be anything wrong with the system. My first set wore out at 42000 and one was real thin, the other about half used up. Put on a new set and now have about 93000, no pull when braking and wear seems to be normal. If you havent noticed the truck pulling to one side when braking (before the shoes wore out) I would resurface the discs (if that one isn't too gone) and put it back together with new pads and drive it. You need to have both disc resurfaced so they will match. I have been messing with this stuff for over 50 years, not an expert by any means but I have picked up a few pointers over the years. Good luck and let us know how things turn out. bg

Dang... . what amazes me is that every site that I am a member of has these smart a** think they know everything members posting junk they have no business posting:rolleyes: (y-knot)

Every site, club, business, and so on has at least one. 17000 members here, I'm sure we have several. At least ours don't show up on the boards that often, whereas they are like piranhas on the other sites.

y-knot may just be having a bad day. Just blow it off.

Glad you were able to find the problem with your brakes.

Ok, maybe I was a little to blunt? Sorry for any anger or heartburn I might have caused. Didn't mean to pi** anyone off, I was trying to help the guy, and I didn't want him to take the warning light lightly, alot of people seem to do that, and I just don't agree. They are there to let you know there is a problem, so an accident don't happen.

AH dont worry about it Y-Knot its all good! the caliper was stiff (almost stuck) too so we figure that didt help anything , got it all fixed .

You have to admit some parts of my reply were pretty funny though!

lol

Take care everyone

Jared
