I am a newbie pilgrim seeking sage advice on the purchase of my first turbo diesel Ram. I test drove a '99 2500 ETH/DEE quad cab long bed with nearly all options I want; ran great, no brake problems or anything. Disclosure form on windshield says it is a warrantee buy back for brake problems and that discs, drums, shoes and pads have all been replaced, salesman (of course) says it is all better now.
While the salesman was checking the options list from the original sale, I saw the original buyer's name and telephone number. I called him after leaving the dealer and his only complaint is that the truck pulled hard to one side at times. The truck has rear only ABS and the owner felt this was the problem. Multiple trips to dealer yielded no satisfaction so they bought it back.
Now for the advice/opinion part; is this brake problem "fixed" (is there really a Santa Claus?) or how bad is it likely to get over the next few years?
