i had to talk mine off to extend it for the lift i added. al i did was put wd40 on it and then popped it of with a screw driver.
 
When you take it off the rear brakes will have full power. In the rain and especially in the snow the rear will lock up all the time. I bought a wilson proportioning valve that I can turn up or down with the knob on it. Also bought the braided brake line to extend it to accomodate the lift. Highly recommend the prop. valve I bought mine for $40 at summit. Good luck Kevin
 
yes when you take it off you will have no brakes

you will have to tie up up with some nylon ties. try and keep it at the same angle that it was at.
