I need to upgrade the brakes on my 1992 1-ton 4x4. I know it needs a new master cylinder. I used the search engine and saw that most people upgrade to ss lines. What else can I do? Are there better rotors and pads? has anyone ever adapted a newer hydroboost setup to a 1g. I do a lot of hauling and really need better brakes. Thanks for the help

The limo has 88 W350 d60's and I am doing trick stuff to them. The rear I did a rear brake conversion on. That is going to help TONS. Second, I am trying HAWK severe duty pads on all 4 wheels. Havent used them before, but I have heard good things. On the rear disc brake conversion, the rotors I used are drilled and slotted for a 85 k25 p/u, and they are slighty smaller diameter wise then the 88 W350's, but the hat and offset are identical. I am going to try and use the 85 K25 rotors on the front. These should let me apply the brake pads harder(creating more heat) and then cool off better. I do warp rotors on my 93 W250 when I am doing my rally-cross up in the mtns :-laf so If the limo conversion works I am going to swap the rotors and pads over.

After the first few months, (on the limo with the 88W350 D60's)I am going to swap the front stock brakes setup to ether Brembo 6 piston fixed caliper, 17 inch detached rotors or the Wilwood equivelint. These kits are desgined to work on new one ton chevys so there is LOTS of modifying to make them work. But it will make the Limo stop on a dime safely.

I have pictures and tons more info of everything I am doing if this is the direction you are going in.
