I have an Amsoil remote bypass oil system installed for over 80,000 miles now, but evidently, I misrouted the rubber lines. One of the lines chafed through on the interstate in NY last week. I lost all my oil, but caught it right away, repaired the damage, and proceeded with rest of the trip uneventfully. However, oil was spewed all over the underside of the truck and down the right side. There was a puddle of oil in the passenger side running board step. I will replace the rubber line with braided stainless as soon as I can find a vendor who supplies this. I checked my brakes at my stop that evening and the rotors were amber colored. I haven't noticed a decrease in braking effectiveness, since I was unloaded, but I am assuming that the amber color is oil glazing. I will replace all the pads/shoes, but I need to remove the glazing. The rotors are not warped. What grit emery cloth should I use to do this?

Try brake cleaner first could be varnish produced by heat . If it don't do it sand it off but rotate so as to keep from causing cross cuts and be sure to use a flat block. LOL Ron in Louisville KY:rolleyes: :D
