Ok, changed pads about 3k ago when the squealers on the Raybestos were touching the rotor. My rotors look to be pretty well shot... hairline cracks visible that run across the rotor (outward from hub). Will the rotors cause the brakes to squeal? Mine are doing it something terrible under light braking and most of the way into heavy braking.

Where do you recommend getting new rotors? OEM? Autozone? Something better out there?

What causes brake squeal with basically new pads?

Definitely isn't the pads squealing now... they're still well over 50%.

Thanks, Josh

Squealing

Was there a fiber backing on the pads or silicone to put on them before installation? Some mfg. put what looks like a piece of gasket material on the back side of the pads, others put a small tube of blue silicone to apply to the back side of pads then there are those who put nothing, these will squeal. bg
