Yup, it damaged the wiring harness so dealer said it's a 10 hour job to pull the dash ($500. ) and the wiring harness is $1510.

I had to replace the behind dash wiring harness on my 01 a couple of years ago because of melted wires caused by a problem with a trailer brake controller. It cooked wires from the brake pedal to the firewall connector. The cost of the harness from the local dodge dealer was about $360. If the tech has pulled and replaced a dash recently (1-2 yrs) it probably will only take 7-8 hrs.
