2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Brakeline size ?

Hello all,



Well, looks like I need to re-plumb my entire hard brake lines. I just experienced a leak on Friday :{



A couple of questions?

- are the hard lines all the same size through-out the truck?

- what size are they? (I'm thinking 3/16")



If any have re-plumbed their system, is there anything to look out for?



I am thinking about getting 2 - 25 ft coils that are supplied with fittings. Will I need extra fittings, or special fittings?

I replaced all metal lines on my '95 last year. Bought ss line but it's hard to work with. Likes to leak at the fittings. Would use something else next time, though there should not be a next time. 3/16" was the size through out, though. You'll also need a double flaring tool. Those kits look real nice, wish I had discovered them for my replacement saga. My brakes are now better than new.

I thought about stainless. However, when researching it, I found (as you noted) that it is difficult to work with.

Do you happen to remember if the fittings a metric or standard?

Dodge used both metric(bubble) and standard(double) flares on your 2001. I had the line going from the compensation valve down to the frame let loose on me a few weeks back. Found a tag with what looked like a good Dodge part#52009472ab. Went to Dodge and had no luck getting line. Went with prebent stainless lines from EGR brakes.
