I just replaced fronts and rear brakes and my pedal is still soft as hell. I went through this my old 92(ya!like my 93 is showroom fresh)with no avail. I didnt want to replace master cylinder. Ive been through all that and it didnt seem to solve it.

A spongy pedal is usually an indication of air in the system. Can also be caused by rear shoes not fitting the drums properly but most likely air. Try bleeding the brakes. bg

White 99 3500, QC, 3:55, auto. most options except leather, Line-X bed liner, fiberglass running boards Ranco 9000s, bug shield and window vents, black vented 5th wheel tailgate, aluminum tool box, 100 gal. aux. fuel tank not mounted yet.

Well when I changed rear brakes the truck calls for 2. 5's when I pulled them apart there were 3's on there I put the 2. 5's on figuring previous owner put wrong size on. The label on the hood calls for 12x2. 5 so I think I'm right on about that.

Hi John;
About a year ago I replaced the rear shoes on my 93 (it was at 106K and the shoes had at least 40% remaining, but I figured since I'd pulled the drums, I might as well replace the shoes)
Anyway, I had the same problem--mushy soft pedal. When I finally got frustrated enough, I pulled the drums again and found that on one side the self adjusting cable was off the little half round pulley---either didn't get it on or??? Anyway, that solved the problem. Not very likely yours is the same, but possible.
