I have a 95 and a 2004 and there a big difference In the brakes. The 95 brakes are soft compared to the 2004. The 04 are a dream just touch with your toe and they work very nice. Now what brand of pads and rotors are the best. The brakes are In good shape on the 95 and the ones that came with the Dodge when new. It only has 40,000 miles on It.

I ordered a 95 3500 and now I have an 05 3500. I never noticed and difference in the brakes. Both are great. On the 95 I did replace them with original Mopar brake pads. They were never soft.

It could be that you need to adjust the r.
Some brakes have a differant grip on the drum / rotor , but none should be soft at the peddle , the soft pedle is going to be mach. stuck caliper , or r. shoe adjust . Or hydrolic , air in line , but if you have done anything with the fluids / lines/ hoses than it shouldn;t be hyd.
