my brakes create ALOT of brake dust i ot new rims and can't keep them clean:mad: any suggestions on low dusting pads i am using wagner pads right now. are there any brake bombing that cab be done to my truck 2000 2500 4wd

I am using the carbon kevlar pads from EGR Brakes (along with their rotors) and don't have any problems with brake dust.

Are your rear brakes adjusted to where they should be? The automatic brake adjusters aren't that great. You can put on rear wheel cylinders that are for a 1T truck to help increase braking power.

If you tow a lot, you could get an exhaust brake to help.

How do you like the EGR system? I have a 1998 Quard cab 2500 and I am thinking of changing the brake system over to four wheel disc in the spring time.

The EGR front upgrade was money well spent. I am going to convert rears to disc this spring. Would have done it already, but went thru backs completely and added bigger wheel cyclinders. When the rears are adjusted right I have very good brakes, very good.

I concur that the EGR brakes are well worth the money. I have only done the fronts. I do plan on converting to the rear disks probably later this spring or summer.

how much for the egr brake upgrades and is it really worth it? any other options out there that are not to costly but effective?

You can get the kevlar pads and steel lines from EGR and it will make an improvement. The works from EGR was at $900. It includes slotted rotors, blueprinted calipers, pads, lines and fluid. Their calipers uses silicon seals and takes the heat better than factory. Heat is the killer on these trucks. Several aftermarket suppliers sell brake upgrades for Rams, but most are the 1500 series. Hard to find for the REAL trucks.

EGR advertises on TDR so look them up and price what they are now. I did mine over a year ago and haven't had any pull or problems since. Pads aren't showing any wear and I do the hardest driving you can do with these trucks. Back and forth to work thru town 13 miles each way.

If is don't burn oil, it ain't a truck!
