I installed my Brakesmart tonight. And I need to say a few things about it.

first off when I ordered the unit I was treated very well and all questions were answered in detail that I had. Shipping was prompt and the material arrived and was the right stuff. Installation was so simple!! All the wiring comes pre-terminated so no cutting and splicing is needed and there is plenty of extra wire to mount almost anywhere.

Here is a neat thing. On my 2007 Dodge was smart enough to put a nice 1-1/2" grommet in the firewall right behind the clutch pedal which came in very handy for running the sensor wire through the firewall and will come in very handy when my gauges show up next week and I install them.

Pressure sensor installed like a dream. And looks factory where I put it. Mounting was very easy as soon as I found a place. All in all it only took me 1/2 an hour from start to finish. That being pulled truck into garage to pulling it out of garage.

Have not towed yet. Not till tomorrow. But I will let all know what I think of the controller. I will also take some pics so you can all see how the installation went.

Any questions please ask.

Thanks

Dane

Where did you order the BrakeSmart from and if you don't mind, how much did it cost?

I think this thread can go in either Forum.

I think this thread could to either place since it is on my 3rd Gen and thats what this forum is. I ordered the Brakesmart from Dr. Performance and the price was what was advertises on their website . Plus a little shipping charges. I will be towing 20,000# tomorrow so I will find out how it works on my trailer then.

I have a couple of these that are several years old... . the old owner had promised EGT in a couple of months..... Did that ever happen???? I have towed 22K lbs of trailer with mine..... and feel good about how it works... its the only one I'm going to buy with my new trucks...

You will be very happy with the brakesmart. I have lost count of how many people i have installed them for after they rode in my truck with a load on it. I have been severely overloaded (30k) on a couple of occasions and the brakesmart in conjuntion with a good set of trailer brakes on my gooseneck always make me feel nice and comfortable. I do find i need to adjust the gain for each different trailer i tow, but once set you can forget it is there. Some of the best money anybody with a trailer can spend imho.
