New Towing / Ratio Question

Dang... up to about 4 times what a Jordan is with that price.

I want to upgrade from the unit I have now and don't really like the cable affair of the Jordan. I probably only use it 4-5 times per year.

I wished they wouldn't have raised the price so much.

I've had a variety of brake controllers over the years. I have a Brakesmart now and it's worth every penny. It feels as though the brake pedal in the truck operates the trailer brakes, in other words it seems like a single unit. It's the first time I feel like I have really good brakes that I can trust to stop fast if I need to.

I have used most of them including the Jordan and Prodigy and if you tow a lot, it is worth it, even with the price increase. I have had mine for over 2. 5 yrs and 265,000 miles and it hasn't given me any trouble at all. The only complaint I have is that you can't shut off the alarm if you have a wiring problem or have short in your braking system. On new years day I was coming back from a job when the alarm went off saying I had a short in the braking system, (read that, bad magnet) I hit the button to cancel it and 10 seconds later it came back on. That's fine, but I was 200 miles from home, drove me crazy, stuffed about a roll of paper towels around it to muffle the sound. Jacked it up the next day, sure enough, had a bad magnet. Put a new one on and was back in business before lunch. I pull for a living and wouldn't have anything else. My Prodigy is behind the seat just in case.

Are they actually available now? I was thinking about selling mine to the highest bidder, but I guess it's not worth as much if they are back in production. Any word on the Boost-EGT module?

I read on another site were a guy ordered a controller with boost and egt module. I assume this enables the controller do display boost and egt readings. Package was a little over $800.

Its worth it, i have them on 3 trucks, about to be 4. IMHO its one of the few products that i have purchased that actually lived up to all the "hype" surrounding it.
