installed isspro pyro last night ...

don't like the little computer between the gauge and probe ... have hooked up 20+ pyro's and this is my first isspro ...

everything is fine with this pyro until you pull in and get ready to shut down, when the truck drops to idle so does the pyro

anytime the pyro drops quickly to below 275ish the needle drops to zero (100 on this gauge)

took it into town today and it did it 4 out of 7 times that the truck sat and idled ...

if you goose the motor a little and bring the pyro up to 300 it'll flip back up and then not drop off again ...

any thoughts?

Almost sound like the little computer can't read anything under a certain temp

i have never used anything other then Auto meter so i really can't help much

i have the isspro egt and it works perfect. had it for about a year now. never drops in the way your describing. . i would say somthing is definitly wrong with it. maybe the sensor.

When I first installed mine it would drop to zero regardless of what the engine was doing. The power source was the culprit, check were you have it hooked it up and the routing of the wires.

Got Autometer Ultra-Lite series I believe it's called, doesn't do anything like you've described. Also it appears my Autometer pyro doesn't have to go through any computer, it's 100% mechanical.

Sort of sounds like a cool down timer that is wired to the display... (instead of shutting off the truck, it's shutting off your guage)

I had gotten a similar problem with mine after install except it would bounce up to proper value and then back to 0 at any time. I got a complete replacement, gauges and all, replaced them one at time and found the probe was bad. Unfortunately, because I'd been told by the experts, "The probes never go bad. ", that was the last thing I changed out. Ha! Isn't that the way it always goes!!!

thanks for all the answers guys ...

wife is puttin' 200 miles a day on the truck and my 13 year old plays jr high basketball so it will be sat before i run the tests ... i suspect the factory connections at the back of the gauge ... the isspro has the 4" little quick connect and i never thought to check where it connects to the back of the gauge ... just assumed it was installed correctly
