A friend of mine picked up a new 05 Monday nite. He drove it around for half an hour while his salesman finished up with another customer, took care of business, and left. He drove 15 miles up the road, gets off the freeway, and the engine light comes on and the engine stumbles at the end of the ramp. He drove a couple of miles to his girlfriend's house with it missing and running like poop. It sat in the driveway idling bad, so he drove it back to the dealer, and it ran fine.
The next day, the dealer calls and said whoever put fuel in it didn't put the cap on tight and they bled the fuel lines(?). They drove it around, said everything was fine. He picked it up, drove to the same place, had the same problem. Sooo, they sent a wrecker the next day and towed it.
He called off work today, so I don't know the latest. I do know he's pretty PO'd, not only about this issue but also about some things that were changed in the lease agreement that the salesman neglected to mention :-{}
The sad part is this is the first new vehicle he's had since I've known him. He was pretty excited about getting it, after shopping for a couple of months and deciding what to spend his money on. And then have a crappy experience like this.
Anyway, anyone had a similar problem? The techs at this place don't seem the sharpest. I've heard of a loose fuel cap throwing a code, but never affecting engine performance. And bleeding air out the lines, when it was running fine before?
Sorry for rambling on. I thought I could add another to the membership, but now I'm not so sure.
