It was great to see Frank and the Frankenmonster again. Thanks for coming Team Ford.



A curious thing happened during the extreme class that I don't understand. BBD got off the line and began to hop pretty good. He was also swerving later in the pull. The swerve may have been trying to stay on good footing, but I would think it slowed him down. Brandon pulled in the same area of the track and really hopped violently. I would bet he hasn't had the suspension jumpin that bad before. He stopped at around 104 feet which would have to count as a pull. He had the sled moved to the left and rehooked which seemed to provide a much smoother run. When I asked BBD about this he said you get two pulls. I said "then how come you didn't get two pulls"? I would have enjoyed watching BBD pull in the smoother lane to see if he could have made up or exceeded the 3' he was short of Brandon's mark.



All in all The day was a teriffic success. I enjoyed the drags as much as the pulls. James was amazing at 9. 2 in the 1/8, Harvey was runnin' about 9. 6 in his repowered ramcharger, Louie did well too with his Dodge. Can't remember Frank's time with the Ford. Was good anyway.

Some pulls have a rehook rule, most around here are 75 feet.

Sled, I understand that of course. But this was beyond the rehook rule (over 100'). This is where the problem is.



These two guys are currently our best pulling rigs cause Adam is not up and running. I would like to see Branden and BBD on even footing to decide who's champ.

Most times, if you let off before the set mark, they don't care if you coast past.







If you want to protest a pull HVAC, you should do it before they hand the trophys out.

I am not protesting the pull, it's over with. I'm not competing and therefore I don't feel I have the right to anyway. I am wondering what I missed that would expain this.

coasting is what happened--it depends on the event promoter to set up rules that say you must be stopped before "x" amount or you must let up before "x" amount--this can lead to a lot of confusion----dang they're just lucky I didn't show up :G... . chris

There was absolutly nothing wrong with what Brandon did, he won fair and square. If you read the registration paper work it actully read "best of two pulls" everybody was allowed to pull twice in all four classes, first time I ever heard of this at a pull, I believe it was a new DEPO thing and perhaps Brian Massetti didn't even know about it because why wouldn't more people have pulled again ? I asked to pull a second time but wasn't given that chance, I believe due to time constraints who know's.



If the Ford camp honestly believes that Brandon is the kind of guy who would pay off the sled operator then I believe they are just looking for excuses for there own short cummings : ) that is crazy. For one Brian Massetti is not the kind of guy who even entertain that, from my dealings with Brian he is a most honest and nice guy, Good People.

It was a good pull by both. It was up in the air as to who would get that win - looked like it could go either way. Both Brandon and Scott are great guys, good friendly competition. I want to thank both of you for your help and pointers. I'm real happy with my results in the street class, I ended up 4th about 3-4 feet out of 3rd, but I can't complain. Everyone that beat me and most that didn't had WAY more fuel than I did. I can thank my Enterprise clutch for doing as well as I did, leaving in a taller gear with a full head of steam is an amazing feeling, allowed me to out pull trucks with a lot more power. I also want to thank Gene (sled puller) for his pointers and encouragement. As it turns out, I think you were right sleddy, I could have pulled one gear taller, I ended up in 4 lo and managed it with no trouble what so ever. At the last minute Brandon suggested I go that route just to be safe because the track was hooking a little right at the end. He was looking out for my little underfueled and under charged truck. If I had it to do all over again I would certainly try one gear taller. But I'm happy.



It was also good to talk to Danelle, you and Brandon are nice folks. Thanks again to Gary(willyslover) for the clevis. Nice talking to you HVAC and good to meet you BPINE, nice rig.



Looking forward to doing some more pulls.
