For Photos,

The easy way is to upload the file to the TDR server. Just click on the browse button, located at the bottom (past the text box) in the post you are submiting or replying to and attach the image from your computer. One thing though, the maximum allowable size is 400 x 400 pixels using this method.

The other, is to enclose the url for the image with a pair of html tags such as [ ]'s with "img" enclosed within first set, and "/img" contained within the ending set. This is only for images linked from a web site.

Example,

"#ad
" (omit the quotation marks)

Take a look at these posts for help with photos/images.

Man, I am sorry to hear that. It just happened to me about 2 weeks ago, they broke my passenger side quad window. I have been looking into alarms, it may give me a chance to get out there before they run next time. Again, sorry to hear about it.

This happened to me and my biz partner down in San Antonio this summer. Two of the windows were broken out and they stole my favorite Benjamin air rifle, a brand new, purchased that day transfer switch, about 50 good CD's, 300 buck sunglasses, stereo speakers from behind the seat, radar detector out of the glovebox, etc.

Then they proceded to cut the hardware off the enclosed trailer we were towing and they stole about 11,000 dollars worth of hand tools and brand new honda generator (it was two days old)

It was a very devastating loss for our small company. Some of the loss was covered by insurance (6000 bucks worth) and we had a 1000 dollar deductable. We ended up eating about 8 grand in loss. I was so mad I could have spit bullets at these scumbags.

The cops dusted the entire trailer for prints and actualy lifted some. The bad thing is the prints were not on file and the cops said they more likely than not came up from Mexico and went on a rampage that night. Other vehicles in the area were broken into or stolen all together. A large Dewalt truck trailering an enclosed race car was stolen and found near the border from the Hotel next door. Oh , I might add that the Omni hotel in San Antonio is not gonna pay for any loss we incurred. They are fully aware the problem exists but still find no problem in not having a good security program in place for their guests vehicles.

Oh Man,, now I'm gonna be looking over my shoulder every time I step out of my truck...

Sorry 'bought the losses guys.

I have been seriously thinking about setting up some kind of security system that "shocks" somebody who tries to break into my truck,, Was thinking about a 12V 20Amp shock "un-fused" If somebody accidently touched the truck they could still walk away,, but If somebody tried breaking into it, they would be zapped everytime they touched the truck. LOL Is that illegal?? Too bad, LOL

I don't know if these will work but I heard. ;) that wiring a 12 volt car coil from battery to body will do the trick. Normal coil 20,000 volts very small current. If you have ever got zapped with a coil you know what I mean, hold a spark plug sometime and start car if your curious. Friend siad he had somebody keep breaking off is radio antenna. After coil connect never happened again!!!! :--)

Merrick,

DON'T DO IT!!!!!! My '96 was stolen Christmas a year ago#@$%! and I looked into a device that is like the club with a tazer in it. The basic idea is that you have a club on the wheel, if someone messes with it, it will visually arc (as a warning) then zap them with a tazer charge. It souned good until I found out that it has been outlawed in America. The other side of it is that you can't afford the liability insurance.

If someone is high and steals your truck, gets zapped and has a heart attack, YOU are liable. I know that sucks and is stupid, but that's the way it is. :(

Trust me, I know what you guys are thinking. I got layed-off :{ and then a month later my truck was stolen:mad: and totaled#@$%! , but think carefully about the liability issues before you do any of these things.

You got it Bud,, Sorry 'bout your truck,, I think as soon as I save up enough money after the wreck I had,, I'll buy an alarm that just goes "Bweep-Bweep" when I press the lock/unlock button.

MCummings... Your idea reminded me of something I saw on 20/20 awhile ago. It's a product in Africa I think, and its used for if somebody is gonna car jack you, there are gas nozzels under the driver and passenger doors, and when the would be jacker is at your door, u basicly push a button and the gas shoots out and is automaticly burned and u have one crispy car jacker now  LMAO :D

Here's a thought

I know KILLING someone with a car alarm is illegal, but I think a good scare ought to do nicely. There are several "Pain Generators" that i have seen at car alarm shops that might do the trick. They are basically an extremely loud alarm sirens that get mounted inside the cab. Once the alarm goes off the cab becomes a very unplesant place to be. Maybe you could time delay it for 15 seconds or so to give the theif time to get his/her head inside the truck...

Maybe another grover under the passenger seat would do the trick :D

Anyhow, sorry about your loss.

I still think the best solution is my 70# 40$ pound puppy. She's ugly like a train wreck... Nothing on my side of my fence is worth tangling with a mug like that. Now if the'd just let me chain her to the front bumper when parked at the airport I'd feel lots better about leaving my truck on the lot...

Re: Breakin'

Sorry to hear about your theft. It'd be wonderful to put a lead pipe around their head while their doing it wouldn't it.

In a catalog on parts for my 70 Chevelle I saw an alarm system that not only sets off the noises (horns lights etc. ) but also transmits to a beeper you can carry. Distances was 2 miles.

I had one on my 89 Goldwing and it worked great when a drunk fell over it. I was there to pick him up. I think I still have the catalog if anyone is interested. P. S. in these sue happy times that shocking idea is not too good.
