I have a 2nd gen 1996 ram 2500. Initially the brakes felt soft and if I had to slam on the breaks the ABS/BREAKS lights came on. I replace the master cylinder first and I had the same issue then I just replaced the power brake booster. Is the new parts of feels a little bit better but still get the break lights warning if I slam on the breaks. Vehicle has 256000 miles on it. I was wondering if anyone else out there had this issue if it was possibly going to be the vacuum pump or due to the age of the vehicle maybe I need to upgrade to Hydroboost system.
