Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Breaks went on and stayed!

I put on my breaks the other day while just moving slowly to hook up to a trailer and when I used my breaks (foot petal) it clunked and the trunk stopped and the braked were locked up. I had to use reverse, then forward, then reverse etc. to get the brakes freed up.



2001 HO. all disk brakes.

Could be a sticking caliper or a Master cylinder froze in the pushed in position.



Was the pedal way down untill it freed up? If so it might be the Master.

Dont forget the Hydroboost unit

If you can get it to lock up consistantly,while its locked up, loosen the master cyl. mounting bolts to see if the brakes freeup,if they free up then its the hydoboost unit if they dont,loosen the hydraulic lines at the master cyl. to see if they free up. If they freeup then its the master cyl. Hope this helps Merv
