Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO

I finally got my 285/75R16 OWL Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVOs installed Saturday morning, so I thought I would pass along my initial impressions. So far, these are great tires! I was surprised at how deep and aggressive the tread is for an AT tire (17/32" in depth). The picture on the website doesn't do the tread justice. The 285s appear much more agressive than the picture shows. They don't seem to pick up and throw rocks like some AT tires do.



They are VERY quiet on the highway and grip much better than the stock Michelins did in the rain.



The Michelins would just spin in wet grass, but the Bridgestones gripped very well with no slip. We'll see real soon how well they work in the snow, but allegedly they are great snow tires.



The 285 tires have a D load rating at 65 psi (3305 lbs), but are only rated 110 pounds less than their E rated 265 counterparts (3415 lbs). I think the 285 is the biggest tire they offer, though.



The tires have a 50,000 mile wearout warranty - not bad for an AT tire.



I paid $550 at a local Firestone dealer for tires, mount & balance, road hazard warranty, and taxes. The dealer was running a sale: buy 3 tires - get one tire free, half price mount & balance and $5 road hazard warranty.



So far, so good. I'll report back after the snow starts to fly.

238/85's vs. 265/75

My 2 cents...



I ran a set of Michelin LTX A/T 265/75's (load range C) for 66,000 miles - nice tire. Just switched to the 235/85 (load range E) Dayton Timberline AT's (bought out by Bridgestone).



Less than 1,000 miles on them to date, but I've had them in 6 inches of snow, lots of slushy, icy roads, and 10-12 inches of mud several times already... and the narrower 235/85's have given me much better traction. I barely dug out of the mud as it was - I'm not sure if the 265's would have cut deep enough to get me the traction I needed.



They don't ride as smooth, tho .....



It's a never ending trade-off.

Dayton Timberlines did very well in a Consumer Report test several months ago!

I looked at'em, but they quoted me something like 660

so I spent a little more and got the ones I wanted in the first place.



Glad you got a better deal. They should do good in the snow.

I looked atthese tires also. I think I was quoted around $660 or so, but with Load Range E. Only problem is they are on national backorder because of the strikes is what I was told. I have a friend with these tires and when I saw them I was very impressed by the tread design and depth.



I guess I will wait it out since my Michelins aren't gone yet, just kind of border line for the Colorado winter.

I had to order mine, but it only took 3 weeks to get them in. Like you, I still had SOME tread left and could afford to wait it out. Besides, I couldn't pass up the deal I got. Too bad you guys that got the high quotes don't live in my neck of the woods - the dealer that I got my tires from ran the same sale last Sunday and will probably run it again soon.

I was also told of the back order but the dealer told me he would knock off $100 for the wait, total out the door $620

I ordered the 285 75 16s several weeks ago from Tire Rack. They are still on back order. They told me another week or so. I can't wait. As long as the snow holds off I am fine. But this is Minnesota and its been cold enough, so I am very eager. I was going to cancel and go with another tire, until I saw zman's post.

On Wednesday night, we got our first snowfall since I put the Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVOs on - about 6 inches of the white stuff. The REVOs were awesome! I went places in 2WD that usually requried 4WD when I had the Michelins on the truck. They also gripped pretty well on the ice as well.



Hopefully you guys that were waiting for the REVOs were able to get 'em. Worth the wait IMHO.

Revos out, BF All terain TAs in

I was told my revo's would not be in to late Jan. So I had to go with something else. It is getting too slick around here. BF Goodrich All Terrain TA. Is anyone using these? I hope they are OK. They look really aggressive, almost to aggressive looking.

I bought 265/75R-16E, I couldn't get a bigger tire due because of the parking garage at work. So far I love the new tires!

I would definitely price around on these. I had the local Firestone dealer quote me $832 dollars on a set of four. This was mounted, balanced, new valve stems and road hazard. The road hazard was $18+ a tire! I left there and went to Tires plus and they quoted me $714 out the door with all of the above plus new wiper blades are thrown in free. This is a $118 dollar difference in about 2 miles. I then see another Firestone dealer running the buy 3 get one free and call them. They want $662 out the door. They are giving me a tire free and can only beat Tires Plus by $52 dollars. I am thinking of just buying them from Tires Plus for spite. At least it seems like he is trying to give you the best deal. He wanted $149 and Firestone wanted $157 per tire before M & B and road hazard. Maybe I should stick with the Michelin LTX M/S I can get them for $695 at Sam's out the door.



Sorry for the long post, but wanted to tell everyone it is worth it to shop around!!

The BFG's are excellent tires and are well worth the price ! I have had them on 2 of my Dodge 2500 trucks in the past few years. If you maintain them, ( rotate, balance, + air pressure checks ) they semm to last a long long time. My last set had 79,000 miles on them before needing replacement. They are quiet on the road so dont worry to much about them looking too aggressive. I have been real happy with mine.
