My local tire shop recommended Bridgestone Revos ,235,85,16s E, for my 02, DRW 4x4,3500,excab and Lance camper( a good 3500lbs loaded). Loaded the rear axel weight is about 6900lbs,4000lbs on the front axel. (I've got the original Goodyears on front still). The rear seems a little squirely but I don't have anything to compare to. Could the sidewalls not be stiff enough? I'm running at 60lbs now; they seemed worse at 70lbs. which is the presssure the tire shop put in. The Dodge manual recommends 55 to 60 lbs for my weight and camper.



Also the shop says a 265 on front will be ok. But I'm concerned that the different diamaters will lead to problems with 4wd.
 
I've got the 265 Revo's (set at 80psi when loaded) and the truck handles my camper very well. Do you have air bags/sway bar on the truck?

I've had the 265 Revo's on my truck for 38K and they ran well. At this time I am looking for replacment tires and would use them again.

Revos

I've got Ranchos 9000 set at max, front and rear sway bars, and both the camper and tow pkg. Loaded she rides level and doesn't squat in the rear. Each of the rear tires (235s) are carying less than 2000lbs. Pressure at 60lbs. Happy to hear others are having good luck with the Revos - guess I won't sweat it. Although I'm still wondering about how 265s in front would effect 4 wheel drive.

Compare the rev's per mile of the 265 tire to the 235/85 tire. If they are not the same, something has to either slip or break. Hope this helps...

I just put the 235 85 16 Revo's on my 97 3500 over the summer. The tread is awesome for all weather conditions. The one thing I don't like about them is the fact that they are 10 ply rated but only have 7 actual ply's. That makes my truck feel very squirley in the rear and I get an uneasy wandering feeling when riding with my camper in. If you do not load up the truck with heavy loads or heavy towing then these are your tires, but if you do then just be advised of the squirley feeling. I would recommend looking for a tire with more actual ply's.

Solved the problem by lowering the tire pressure to the truck manufacturs recommendations. Instead of trying to stifen the sidewalls with more pressure which crowned the tires, lowered by 15 lbs. Made all the difference.
