As I was reading through these posts, it occured to me how many people may look at your sig and make those assumptions of an individual taking his rig past the limits just say or do pull over the GCWR. When someone looks at my sig, those mods are NOT to brag or expand my GCWR, those mods were done to make it easier on my truck and less stressful for ME to pull what I do within my GCWR.

I've heard a Titan owner brag about his Dana axle... . a Dana 44 in the rear, with a finned aluminum cover! And how his 10k rating was higher than my 97 Dodge rating. I told him that the Nissan Xterra and the Titan have identical front rotors, same part #... Shut him up a little.

After reading most of these posts I guess I must be one of the few that worry about the ability to STOP more than how much some of these mental midgets think they can pull!!!! I've seen people with a half ton pull a 36' boat and then when someone asks them about being overloaded they say" I'm only going to the ramp"--which is usually miles and miles away. These are the same people that can't pull their boat up the ramp without help. IMO there is no cure for STUPID!!!!!

Pullya, you hit it right on the head. I probably could tow 15K with my truck, but I doubt I would be able to stop that load if the trailer brakes failed.

Like the kid who wanted to borrow my custom dump trailer.

It weighed 4,400 lbs.

He shows up and insisted to borrow it.

I asked if he had a truck, he pointed to his cute S-10.

Rather than argue i told him to back up to it and lets hook on.

His toy truck continued to settle down on the jounce bumpers before it carried the tongue weight!!!

He also had a 2" ball instead of the 2 5/16.

When I told him he needed the right size ball, he said no it pulls them just fine with the 2" one!!!

BTW, he said he was going to haul some dirt with it!!!

It stayed parked.
