They told me to use them!!!

I was an early beta tester and I put in Sylvania Silverstars at the same time, so far not problem. Ken Irwin

Rammers,

It is OK to use Silverstars, PIAA or any other DOT approved bulb with the Brite Box. Avoid anything that does not say DOT on it because it is higher wattage than stock bulbs. I have them in everything I drive. FYI - In my Ram, I have them in both the headlights and foglights (9005's with our Fogzilla/Bulbzilla mod see: http://thebritebox.com/fogzilla.mod.html).

It is interesting to note that the Silverstars put out exactly the same lumen output of Sylvania's regular bulbs (data from Sylvania's own tech sheets). However, they appear to be MUCH brighter than standard bulbs since your eyes process the whiter light much more efficiently.

The bulbs to avoid are typically imports that have higher wattages than stock (55W low, 65W high). These bulbs typically are poor in quality and burn out quickly (example: my 25 watt bulb on my porch lasts for two years, the 100 watters in my garage burn out twice a year).

Respectfully Submitted,

Joel Toy

I like the Brite Box! Had it on my '01 (which I took off before trade and is available for $45) and have it now on my '05. Make sure that when installing that all the connecting pins are in good contact with the opposite recieving end! Some pushed out on my initial install to which I took it apart to inspect and re- connect.
