Hi I see Geno's carries the brite box for the headlights. Allowing both hi and low beams on at the same time. Has anyone had any experience with it? It seems a bit pricey

I have it an I love it... can imagin what it was like with out it... oh yeah I remember. . I couldn't see :D I would buy it again.

Look here

Thanks Clayton,

I odered some PIAA bulbs today for low beam, any concern with the headlights handling them and the brite box?

I've had the Brite Box in my 2001 for about three years. It's working as advertised and does give you a lot more light at night. There were discussions as to the heat issues, but it hasn't been a problem for mine. If you do upgrade the bulbs, I suppose you could overheat the headlight assembly, but I don't have any experience with this...

I asked the same question a day or two ago. (no one responded) But I read on the manufacturer's site yesterday that Silverstars or PIAA Platinums are fine with the Brite Box.

Joel from Baker Auto Associates (home of the Brite Box) stated that they get too hot if you increase the wattage. Pretty much any bulb with the same wattage as factory should be fine. I have the newest Brite Boxes on my truck which also illuminate the fog lights as well. I love 'em!

Let me know how they work and look. :D

I would just avoid using all the beams at once while sitting for extended periods of time since there is no air movement to cool the lenses.

Doesn't the Brite Box web site say you have to have the installation done at the factory if you want your fog lights to work with the Box as well?

Probably what they mean is for the fogs to work they (the fogs) must have been a factory installed option and that aftermarket installed fogs will not plug into the box.

Wouldn't it be possible to just figure out what the turn signal switch does when it is pulled back to brights, and add a switch to facilitate doing that function without holding the stalk back constantly?

I think their web site is saying that if you have an older brite box for a 3rd gen that does not control the fog lights you can have it upgraded for about 50. 00 by sending it in to Baker auto accessories factory.

I love my brite box.

Clayton does yours work with the Fog lights on?

Fog lights and the Brite Box

I have one of the prototype Deluxe Brite Boxes for the 03 and later trucks. It turns on all three on high beam, low beams, high beams and fog lights. I don't know if Geno's has the Deluxe Brite Boxes yet but they should soon. Give them a call and ask for the Deluxe Brite Box, you won't be dissapointed. Installation is simple plug and play and I haven't gotten any lamp out indications. The front lights are controlled by a front end computer that is not as easy to fool as it was on the 2nd gen trucks. The Brite Box is the way to go. I also put in the Sylvania Silver Star bulbs which are a stock wattage but a better bulb according to Joel at Baker Auto who makes the Brite Box. Hope this helps. Ken Irwin

If Genos is got them you can get them there. If not you can get them from Joel at Baker Auto Accessories.

I also have one of the deluxe models on my 04. 5 and I really like it. I would recomend this product to anyone. Instalation is easy, only took about 20 minutes. My wife even likes to take the truck at night now because she can see better, I guess this is the only downside to having it. :{

I just pull back on the turn signal indicator and let off when I see lights coming the other way. After practice it just becomes second nature, I can see the value of bright box if you live in the middle of nowhere were there is no oncoming traffic or you often drive all night long. Anymore it seems like my brights are lucky to be on 1 minute with all the traffic these days.
