Brite box

On a thread below they talk about a Brite Box, what are they for?

The Brite Box is a device that keeps your low beam headlight elements lit when you switch to hi-beam. It seems a bit over priced to me for what you get. You could most likely make your own setup using wire, a relay and an inline fuse for less than $40. The brite box does offer the convenience of easy hookup, no cutting or splicing of wires is required.

Thanks Riflesmith, I have one of those things on my GM Diesel, got it from JC Whitney, but i have DRL and it wouldnt work the way the instructions said to hook it up, i did find a way to do it. Want to put one in my new Dodge Diesel with DRL, have to do some experiments to find the right way unless someone already knows how. JC sells them for $10 bucks.
