Need information on how to install new vp44. I have a 1998 Dodge with the 24 valve. I broke down about two hours ago here in Salt Lake City. I have a new one coming in the morning. Can I install it myself and are there any directions that I can access on how to do it.

Thanks

Lauren Jackson

Can't someone help this guy out?

Also, maybe someone with a Service Manual for that year is close enough to you to bring it to you. Or perhaps you could get a Service Manual at a dealer. Geno's has them, but they are in Georgia, but maybe they could overnight one to you.

hope this helps

i have to agree about ken, he hooked me up pretty good. his shop is in ogden, about 30-45 min north of salt lake, give him a call and he can probably help you, if not, cummins intermountain is located at 1030 south 300 west, slc, phone #355-6500. they might be able to get you in the right direction. if i was not in veags right now, I could give you a hand.

kens info:

Diesel Performance/

Diesel Dynamics of Utah

3380 West 2100 South

Ogden, UT 84401

good luck

just one more thing, I don't know where you got your VP44 from, but about 2 months ago i was talking to ken about mine, and his prices were under $1500 installed. and it sounded like he had them in the shop. just some food for thought. hope you didn't have to order from the dealer $$$$.

Thanks everyone for the help. I have my injection pump off and ready for the new one when it gets here this morning. It's all because of this wonderful group and it's members!

Wish I'd broke down in SLC, actually that was my destination. I picked I-80W, x313, Laramie, WY. Input shaft on my ATS rebuild broke, a month out of labor warranty. Flat towed that puppy back to ATS. OTRPU is back on the road.

That was no small tow. Did they take care of you and was curious as to how many miles it had on it. I think I read somewhere back that you pull a 3 car trailer?
