So my EGT was giving me erratic readings (wouldn't break 400 Deg) so I pulled it out to check the connections and one side of the leadwire broke at the ring terminal.

Can I just crimp it to a new ring terminal or should I replace the whole wire?

You can recrimp it, that small length will not make a difference. bg

Contrary to popular belief, the length of the pyro wire does not make any difference. It would if the run was like 200 feet, but a few inches will make no difference. Go ahead an splice it.

Its ok to splice but you want to be sure the splice is very low resistance, preferably soldered. If you cant solder it, twist the wires together then crimp a butt connector over it. Just make sure the copper is touching and it will be good as new. High resistance will affect the accuracy.

guys-
the leadwire broke right at the ring terminal so now I have a ring terminal and a leadwire.
I suppose if I can crimp in a new connection then I can just crimp in a new ring connector. I'll try it and see what happens.
