Well, our HO has developed a knock, the kind of sound that a gasoline engine developes when a rod is going from lack of oil.
I changed the fuel filter, oil to no avail, and stopped by the dealership just now and asked them to look, preliminary guess/diagnose. . and they said have you changed your oil, well we had it changed by the dealership @ 2200, and then changed ourselves at 10098. Have you checked the air filter. He checked it an even though the filter minder said only down 35%, he took it out and the bottom looked very dirty on the bottom.
He said the clogged air filter may have caused what sounds like the last/back piston to develop a problem knock.
He said it could also be an injector.
Anyone got any ideas about the credibility of these estimates/preliminary diagnosis?
any comments?
We are very very nervous that they may not cover this under warranty.
Thanks in advance
