Well, I ended up braking the cover off the front of the breather vent cover while replacing the VP44. I snapped the cover back on, but it started leaking. Well, when I went to pull it off and seal it up, it popped loose and I CAN NOT find that little cover piece.

Just to clarify, the breather vent is the hockey puck looking piece the hose attaches to, and the part I am missing is the flat cover that goes on the front of it.

I called the $tealership, and they want $96 for that thing!!!

Anyone know of a cheaper place to get one?

I am about to call Cummins and see what they might have.

Or anyone know of any junkyards with 24v engines in far north CA or southern OR?

Ok, After running out and getting my engine serial number, I called Cummins and they can get me one by Monday, with the gasket, for $36. 42.

AND they have the cheap lift pump for $64. 90.

Two birds with one stone. Nice.
