I started my 85 crew cab project, and got the bed off, doors off and front end off. Starting to do bodywork, I wanted to fix the fiberglass dually fenders. After grinding the cracks down, i realized that I'm not sure exactly what they are made of, nor what material to use to repair them:confused: . They look like an smc with a thin layer of fiberglass sandwiched in the middle. Does anyone know what they are for sure, and what I should use to repair them?

Thanks,

Jim

Jim as far as I know they are all glass construction. Look at the chip in the right side flair on my old bed where someone hooked a tie down strap to it. It split out just like a glass part.

That's what I thought too, as my broken fenders look like fiberglass in the fractures as well. However, the grinder told a different story, so I was wondering if someone was part of the action when these things were being built, or someone had repaired them in the past knew what they are made of. They are white like smc with a thin layer of glass in the middle. Any help would be appreciated. I'll try to post pics tonight...
