Just a heads up. I was prepping for the annual trip to Colorado hunting in a few days and discovered that the rear fuel tank strap was broke. The outboard end has a chevron piece about 2" long that engages a slot in the frame. The chevron tab is spot welded to the stap and had broke at the spot weld.
It was a simple matter to remove the strap and do a proper weld with my Lincoln wire welder.
I hate to think what would have happened if I hadn't caught it and the the front strap had given way while the wife was a hundred miles away pulling horses. Or even worse, it failing halfway up one of the passes we pull on the way to Montrose, Co.
