The left hinge pin that holds the glove box is broken off:mad:. I have the pin and it mates up perfectly to the bottom part of the dash cover. Any recommendations on a plastic epoxy or glue fix?

Dave

Well ,since no one seems to know I applied Gorilla epoxy. Say's it needs 24 hrs setup to hold a load. Guess I will find out. Sure miss the metal days.

Dave

Mine is broken and I tried to glue it without success. Don't remember what adhesive I used. Gorilla glue is usually pretty good stuff.

I will let you know. I mixed the epoxy and installed the pin yesterday (Sunday at 1pm. Says to wait 24 hrs before load bearing so at 1pm today I will put the glove box back in.

Dave

Yes it worked. The first attempt putting the glove box back in snapped it off with a loud cracking sound. I cleaned it up and re epoxied Wednesday and installed the glove box Thursday afternoon. Things are pretty bad when you have to look up the install procedure for a glove box in the service manual:-laf.

Dave

Forgot to mention the glove box closes real nice now. I do not have to lift up on one side anymore. Putting that thing back in is a real tight fit with all the pins in place.

Dave

Both of the hinge pins on mine have broken off. One of the little hook thingies on the glove body has also broken off. I am probably going to retrofit the whole thing with a piano hinge arrangement. I may document the success or failure with some digital pictures.

It's a dry heat that ruins the paint and evaporates the plastic parts. :{.

No rust, though.
