I am having electrical issues. I found a broken ground strap under drivers floor board about a foot directly behind starter. It is attached to floor board but i am unable to locate other end or determine where it goes. Any ideas?

Thanks

P.S. I have tried searching forums as I know this type of question has been answered a thousand times but I have had no luck with searches since this site changed.

I can't tell you for sure what the other end is connected to, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is grounded to the starter. The 1' distance seems right on target for a grounding strap. My second guess would be the engine block. What is the "natural" direction it points to from where it is fastened to the floor board? It probably didn't change directions much, if at all so I would work my way out in a straight line from the known connection point.

The strap on my 04.5 broke also. It is fastened towards the rear of the block on the side. Seems like it is close to the cylinder head. You can see the bolt from underneath the truck but you need 7 foot arms to reach it. The best way to reach it would be to remove the inner fender well.
When I tried to remove the nut on the floor board the bolt twisted in half.

Hope this helps.
